“Describe a time you corrected a transaction mistake.”

At a fundraiser table, I realized I had selected the wrong item price before taking payment. I stopped, explained the mistake and checked the price list with the organizer. I corrected the amount and counted the change aloud so the customer could follow it. When the line grew, I asked another volunteer to answer general questions while I completed transactions. I did not guess prices to move faster. At the end of the session, our recorded sales matched the cash we counted. I learned that acknowledging a mistake promptly and using a simple check can protect accuracy without making the customer feel ignored.
