“The display plan does not appear to match the available space. What do you do?”
I would compare the plan, measurements and actual materials to identify the mismatch rather than force the setup to fit. I would make the work area safe and tell the lead exactly what differed, including what I had already checked. I would ask for the approved next step before changing the intended layout. If other tasks could continue safely, I would agree those priorities while the issue was resolved. I would document the decision and check the final setup against the corrected instruction before marking the task complete. This is an original hypothetical example for practice. Adapt the language to what you would actually do within your training and authority. If asked for a past example instead, describe an event that really happened and give only outcomes you can support.
This demonstrates a clear decision sequence, appropriate limits and a way to check the result. It does not invent a past achievement.
